Four hour cruise
The regular 4-hour cruise departs at 12 noon at the Port of Ajos in Kemi, about 11 km south from the centre of Kemi. You are allowed to arrive on board the ship starting at 11:30am. During the cruise you will have a guided tour on board the icebreaker visiting its facilities from the engine room all the way up to the captain’s bridge. You will be served a delicious soup-lunch in the Restaurant on board the ship during your journey. After lunch you’ll have the chance for the exciting experience of swimming in freezing cold waters, dressed in warm impermeable survival suits. This experience is to be unforgettable! On arrival back to the port, the captain will honor each cruise participant with a Sampo Icebreaker Certificate. The passenger capacity on board the Sampo is 150 persons.
Price: 260 €/person
The price includes:
- guided tour on board the ship
- lunch: a bowl of soup, bread with butter, coffee/tea. Three course lunch or a vegetarian choice is also available.
- swimming/floating in the sea in appropriate survival suits
- please note: requirements for swimming/floating, age, minimum 12 years, height, minimum 145 cm
Transportation:
The centre of Kemi – the Port of Ajos – the centre of Kemi: 30 €/person. Reservations for transportation must be made at the same time as cruise reservations, pick-up at the Hotels in Kemi and at the Kemi Railway Station.
Cruise reservations must be made in advance. When making your reservations, please provide us the following information for each participant 1. Forename, surname, nationality, and the date of birth 2. Lunch selection: cream of salmon soup or cream of reindeer soup with cheese. Bread with butter, coffee/tea are included in the price. Vegetarian choice: soup of lovage.
For additional charge: three course menu, additional charge 20 €: cream of salmon soup, fillet of beef roast with red wine sauce, caramelized vegetables, potatoes with blue cheese; dessert: chocolate parfait, coffee/tea. Vegetarian choice: soup of lovage, vegetables au gratin in a pot & jasmine rice, wild berry sorbet, coffee/tea.
