Snowmobile-safari to the Sampo Icebreaker

The snowmobile safari starts at the Safari House where you will change into appropriate snowmobile gear: snowmobile suit, wool socks, snowmobile boots, mittens, balaclava and a helmet. A short walk will take you to the snowmobiles. The safari guide will give you driving instructions after which the safari will begin! You will meet the Sampo Icebreaker in the midst of frozen seas. After the cruise, you will return back by snowmobile.

During the cruise you will have a guided tour on board the ship all the way from the engine room to the captain’s bridge. You will also be served a delicious soup-lunch in the Restaurant on board. After lunch, you will have a chance for the exciting adventure of swimming in ice-cold black waters in the midst of broken ice, dressed in warm impermeable survival suits. This is to be an unforgettable experience!  

The program of the day also includes a visit to a Cot Village on a nearby island, where everyone will have a chance for a short reindeer sledge ride. During the visit you will enjoy coffee and sandwiches. Every participant in the reindeer sledge ride will be honored a reindeer driver’s license. The visit to the Cot Village will be either in the morning on the way to the Sampo or in the afternoon returning from the Sampo back to the centre of Kemi.

Price: 425 €/person, two persons per snowmobile
 The price includes: the safari guide, the full complement of gear, the rental of the snowmobile, fuel, insurance, driving instructions, the Sampo cruise and meals as described earlier.
